Cardboard & Grass Clippings Needed

We’re going to be using a cardboard & grass clipping mulch for our zuchs, cukes, & squash instead of the black plastic we’ve used in past years. It’s cheaper (as in free), far more eco-friendly, and will provide us with base material for new beds when we take it off to flip the zuch/cuke/squash beds over to fall crops.

That means we will need lots of plain (non-colored) cardboard & grass clippings from yards that have not been treated with pesticides or herbicides.

Please leave them in the left side of the compost bin on the east side of the garden (the side farthest from the parking lot)

Work Session & Bible Study—Saturday, June 1, starting at 8:00 AM

We’ll be thinning more of our spring crops  & planting more of our summer crops.  That starts around 8:00 AM.

We’ll also be looking at what we can learn about fruitfulness from all the thinning we’ve been doing, Isaiah 58:1-12, John 15:1-2, and some other verses.

Curious? Come on out. We’ll start the study around 10:30 AM.

How to Gardening Manual

Hi Folks,

Long ago, before God gave us the wonderful garden we now work for Him, He gave the insight to write a "how to"  document on planning and working a garden. It can be accessed Gardening for God--Consolidated.pdf

We hope it's helpful.

God has tuned on the Spigot for The Year

Hi Folks,

God has provided us with 576.2 Lbs. so far this year. Here are the details:

Let me explain two of the the shorthand references  in the "distribution" chart.

"LSS" refers to the food panties run by Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio. They do a great job of delivering God's love in very tangible ways, and we are blessed by our relationship with them.

"Doma" refers to Doma's Freedom al a Cart program, a  program that helps folks escape human trafficking by teaching them skills in a catering operation.  The idea is to give them skills and experience that will allow them to support themselves in other ways. Their food GOOD! God has allowed us to help them by giving us arugula, spinach & mustard greens to give to them.

Harvesting, Thinning, Building New Beds, & Bible Study this Saturday, May 4

Hi folks,

We’ve got a lot to do this Saturday: harvesting kale, thinning greens, & finishing up the two new beds for our ESOL friends.

Come out and help us. We start at 9:00 AM,  break for a Bible study at 10:30 AM, get back to work around 11:00 AM and keep going until around 1:00 PM. You’re more than welcome to come out for any or all of that.

The Bible study will be about how God builds us up over time. This isn’t it, but it will give you a taste of what we’ll be digging into: Making Good Soil: Matthew 13:8, Mark 4:8 & Luke 8:8.

See you there!
