We’re
going to be using a cardboard
& grass
clipping mulch for our zuchs, cukes, & squash instead of the black
plastic we’ve used in past years. It’s cheaper (as in free), far more
eco-friendly, and will provide us with base material for new beds when we take
it off to flip the zuch/cuke/squash beds over to fall crops.
That
means we will need lots of plain
(non-colored) cardboard & grass clippings from yards that have not been
treated with pesticides or herbicides.
Please
leave them in the left side of the compost bin on the east side of the garden
(the side farthest from the parking lot)
